When you read these reviews of the E60, you can't help but think that these motoring jounalist have IQs in the low teens.

I can't believe these guys, who probably use a PC + word processor to write their reviews, can't figure out iDrive <_<

Ok at the launch of the E60, fine....it was flavour of the month to bash the E60's iDrive, it was fashionable, it was the"in" thing among motoring journalist. But c'mon, it's been a year, you would think things would have moved on....

It almost feels like if they stop bashing iDrive, they will somehow no longer belong to some exclusive club....

Kiasu,

I am not too sure if PML actually does the respray job themselve or sub-contract it outside. Sin Wee Chuan has a good reputation for respraying Bimmer cars. I personally do not know him as (touchwood) I have not had to use his services yest. I have not even been to his shop lest u thing I am related to him. Some others have gone to him for bodykit installation service. Really no harm speaking to him and finding out more. I won't be surprised if he has a few Bimmers around lying around as "samples". Cheers!

Had a long discussion with one of the "lao chiao" engineer in PML and enquired about re-mapping the ECU. He confirmed that they definitely would be able to tell as their computer will register a fault the moment they hook up the car. And this action effectively voids the warranty!

eggz,
Actually, the MMI is actually easier to use than the iDrive. At the very least, it doesn't have the acceptance screen.

That silly magazine actually praised the Benz for built quality?!?!?! Are they MAD!!!! The Benz has the worst built quality of all German cars and everyone know it as a fact! The phrase "Built like a Benz" is already in common usage. I bet they have been paid off by C&C. The 525i is by far the superior car to the gutless E240 but the E320 is a different story. I hate local mags which have to curry favours to stay in print.

eh....don't know leh...i think the new e-class interior not bad leh. Quite classy also. I hate the e60 cup holder, I got it replace once. The whole thing cannot close and it hang there like cheapo stuff... :'(

I like the e60 exterior...very sporty and bulky...ofcos, the active steering. But careful, it will go haywire sometimes.

PML parts manager told me xenon retrofit with adaptive headlights on 520i will cost about $6,000. At this price, I rather adapt my head and neck to the road. [/quote]
I think the non adaptive bi-xenon should be cheaper?!
Most of the Xenon equipped e60 are non adaptive unless you pay extra for that option. The 520i referred to by Tategoi is non adaptive.

zag, you see, E60 is so perfect that nothing to criticize, so idrive becomes target of criticism.
