i hv noticed something strange with the a/c which i dun understand.
u know..the max we hv on the dial shows 26...there is another step higher than 26. however when i do that..i feel hot air coming in....from the top n below...doesnt make sense...as the air in the car is then hotter than outside...
can someone provide some knowledge on this?

Here is a series of changes on the i-drive menu from version 12.1
Warning message! You got to hit the button every single frigging time like an idiot to clear it. Was driving without this for the last 7 months! Main irritatiion!
Main menu! You can't find the climate control icon at bottom left no more. So you can't really tell if you are on auto or manual settings! Bummer!
The auto climate control menu.
Manual climate control menu. Notice the pax side doesn't have the upper body head flow control anymore.

I know US bound e60s have the warning message.. how about non US folks and running version 12? are you happy with it?
I was on the phone with my local BMW service center as I wasn't too happy with BMW changing the idrive menu and no prospectus to go with each change!
Now i am not too keen to go for any future software upgrade w/o knowing what i am going to get!

Mine (with Nav and version 12.2) is not like yours. Of course, I always had the 'accept' screen (good old US of A 
) but very little changed with my climate control screens. The wording changed a little on the "automatic programs" screen but I think that's about it.
Keep in mind that in the US, I think I have the equivalent of the Professional Climate Control (or whatever they call it outside of the US...)

I had version 12 installed 3 weeks ago and I have no navigation.
Screens are like yours apart from the Acceptance screen.
Yes the climate control icon/information has disappeared. Think I prefer to have it actually.
Bord Info has been renamed to OBC.
