The spy pics of the F10 make it look like a mini-7 with lines that soften the E60's lines and creases. No it does not look like a great leap forward in styling. But the TT V8 going into the new 550 sure does sound exciting.
If I am not mistaken, the TT V8 is slated for the M5 only.

...and yes my mom is in NY. I was born and raised on Long Island. JUL 25 is soon, but sometime in the future i will need to plan a trip home around a meet.

The F10 550 will be getting the same engine that resides in the new 7 Series, the 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 producing 400 bhp and 450 ft-lbs of torque. The engine for the F10 M5 is still not yet settled with reports that it will either be the same TT V8 in the X5 and X6 M or a new TT V10. I hope for a TT V10 but my guess is that to save development costs, it will be an uprated version of the X5 and X6 M's TT V8. I'm hoping for 600 bhp to humble the CTS-V which, according to every car mag, is faster than the E60 M5.

Just tell your mom, "I miss you so I'm coming this month. We'll celebrate your recent birthday in person". She'll eat it up.

In my mind the e46 and the e39 are the benchmarks for the 3 and 5 series. To this day the e46 is still my favorite Bmw.

Regarding the E60 being timeless I must say that for the first time I'm actually thinking that it's starting to look old. And when that feeling has started to grow it's hard to stop it. But hey, I'm also the only one to appreciate the F07 (5GT)...

Timeless? We can't know for sure yet...BUT the E39 is definitely timeless and definitely just as sexy if not sexier than the E60

Hmmmm. Each time I see one now I think they look old now. It's of an era that was pre-Bangle influence. You could line up an E39 alongside all the current range and get any non-enthusiast to point out which one looks outdated and I'm pretty sure the E39 would get a large number of the votes. I think the E60 however would hold out pretty well when compared against current 3, 6 and 7 series in a similar poll. For me it looks still at the cutting edge of BMW design, with only the new Z4 and 7 series as the exceptions (with their monster-sized grilles).

I agree on the E46. To this day it looks just amazing especially with some nice mods done to it.

That's a tough question..

For appearance, I think it's too difficult to decide. But the most timeless in terms of driving experience IMO goes to the E30 3 series. You can drive one today, and realize it was so far ahead of cars in it's era in terms of driving dynamics. It's old, but it still feels like a BMW to drive (though the modern cars are really starting to numb this feeling). And I think the first M3 really does say BMW like no other:

+1 that is the most sexy BMW ever. That said I love my E60 and the E39 - the E39 M5 was very hot. So the first M3 is the most timeless BMW ever, followed by cars like the M1, the 80's M6 (I would still love one), the E39, the 840/50 series, then probably the E60 for me.
