Two years later I still stare at my 5er and go take random drives just for the fun of it everyday. I still get hoots and comments on how my bmw is awesome. I must admit the e60 looks WAY different with a few mods. Tinted windows, sport suspension, shadowline trim and new wheels really transform this car. Obviously with body kit, m kt etc it is even more amazing but at the very minimum the things I listed make this a beautiful car.

I see the e90 come out and now the new 7 series and x6 and I still feel the 5 looks just as modern and not aged at all. It looks as modern as the e90 or the new 7 series. I am wondering if the new 5 series will be so tame looking that this e60 will really be the most attractive bmw out there for some time to come

My personal favorite is the e28 based 6 series ... and before anyone asks ... no, it's not mine

I don't think the E60 will look dated when the new F10 arrives.

the e60 has a style and shape that is before it's time , aged can't come near to describing the cars look.

I too love driving my E60. I live in Manhattan and don't take the car to work (I take the subway) and yet I drive 18,000 to 20,000 per year -- all of it on weekends. I find driving my car both relaxing and exhilerating at the same time. I just love to go on random drives with Victor often with no advance route or destination planned out.

As far as looks go, the E60 is unnique. Nothing on the road looks like it. It will age well with time. The LCI cars with M Tech kit and 19 inch wheels look particularly stunning.

That being said, as much as I love the E60, I love the looks of the E39 more. It's just more classic to me. I also miss the instant throttle response of my E39 540 (which could easily smoke the tires at a stoplight with the traction control off) and its greater tossability. My E60 is faster than my E39 was and is a better overall car but, to me, my E39 was more fun to drive.
