My mom turned 50 yesterday. she would kill me if i came to new york for a bmw meet and not her birthday!
Hey, if she's in NY, you could combine a visit to her with the meet.

I think for a lot of us the 2002 (or even the 1600) ushered in the modern era of BMW design: a small, boxy, torquey coupe that was both a driver's car with great handling and also a practical daily driver.

That 2002 brings back such great memories of trips to Vermont skiing and autocrosses and road ralleys with the New Jersey chapter of the BMWCCA. Those were the days. My father's 2002 was maroon.

Round tail light 2002 is sick. But the sweetest car to ever have a BMW engine is the mclaren

Lucky you. It's a classic. Whenever I think of it, it's alway blue. You always can buy another one some day.
White. And I bet I will....

the e60 has a style and shape that is before it's time , aged can't come near to describing the cars look.
Agreed, the E60 design is way ahead of its time and I think it will not look outdated when the new designs arrive.

Was chatting to my neighbour the other day who'd thought that when I got my car in October it was brand new. He couldn't believe it yesterday when I told him it was 5 years old. I don't think the new one is going to be anything close to being as radical a difference as the e60 was to the e39. It's more of a Mercedes style change, gradual and small. Your average person on the street probably won't notice the difference at all.

The spy pics of the F10 make it look like a mini-7 with lines that soften the E60's lines and creases. No it does not look like a great leap forward in styling. But the TT V8 going into the new 550 sure does sound exciting.

personally, i feel the E39 is the most classic BMW but the E60 does it well too....as do the E46 M cars (but i am biased)

See
Seeing that 2002 tii brings back such memories of BMWCCA events during the late 1970s. What a great car it was.
