This is the one quote I can certainly agree with in the prior post. I think the debate often has a bit of a theoretical aspect to it, versus the pragmatic realities of the world in which we live - banning carry permits or other privileges is certain to mean that law-abiding citizens will comply, but other types we have running around will not. Not a pretty picture, either.

I don't carry but I will always have one in my home to protect my family. My wife has a pistol license and is an experienced shooter as well.

As you say, it's all just theory and supposition. The real world is somewhat different. Made for a good debate though.

You can blind an intruder with the flashlights, throw the master combination lock at his forehead, throw the old vcr remote in a corner to make him look over there, threaten him with the old vibrator in his back and the sissor on his throat, then lace his hands up.
But watch out and don't kill yourself with that piece of black leather...
