and thank you for being the self appointed defender of 'the rest of us whack jobs' DRANGED
Can I get added to the whack-job list? Or am already on it!? Good points abound, John.

As someone who used to work in a "unfriendly" corner of the city, in a environment with about $140K in drugs on the shelf, I kept some cold steel on my hip every day, and it felt good there....just knowing it would keep me safe. Our front-end got robbed at gunpoint twice, but luckily I had no issues back in the pharmacy, with my safe full of Oxycontin, Percocet, Morphine, etc.

Back to shooting ranges, I am a bit bummed as of late. My firing range was closed about a year ago, so I have nowhere to go blasting that's close. I have about 800 rounds of ammo in my safe that need to be let loose! Look out!

My favorite piece of all: P229 w/ night sights, .40 S&W caliber.

You're already on it Dave! If anyone else wants to know who' s on the whack-job list it's in my profile, it's called DRANGED's friends list.

Thanks buddy. I was busy today defending the 2nd Amendment, America, freedom, and whack-jobs in general.

My favorite range burned up about a month ago. Some moron who had no business owning a firearm, much less firing one decided it would be a good idea to use tracer rounds.
Rubber back stop caught fire...they ran out fire extinguisers trying to put it out...FD arrived too late. Damn range master was supposed to ge checking peoples ammo.

I'm proud to be on your List! And there's no real reason to have to defend the 2nd Amendment, America or Freedom...they speak proudly for themselves with no explanation required. Greatest country in the world! USA!

Sorry, but I don't see how anyone can take much "pride" in something that directly or indirectly creates a culture that leads to 11,346 gun related homicides in the US in one year, particularly when the numbers are so grotesquely out of proportion when compared to other nations that do have more effective gun controls in place. I don't see how that can, in any way, shape or form, be a reasonable representation of freedom in any meaningful sense.

Incidentally, the only posts that have referenced "whack jobs" have been from posters who are on the right to carry side of the debate.

We already had this discussion. Your arguments have been rebutted. We have moved on.

We all take "pride" in our automobiles here...if you really want to save people's lives we should outlaw the automobile, highways and roads. Without cars and roads non of these deaths would have occurred. There were an estimated 6,289,000 car accidents in the US in 1999. There were about 3.4 million injuries and 41,611 people killed in auto accidents in 1999.

The so-called, fun-loving "whack-jobs" on here, myself included, are not responsible for the shooting sprees, death tolls or crime waves you've read about, nor have we contributed to gun crimes or violence in any way...so where's the PERSONAL flaming coming from? We're looking to protect ourselves and families and/or have some fun at the range. That's all.

Am I not able to be a responsible and law-abiding citizen just because I happen to own guns? Imagine what the shooting death figures in the US would be if the criminals knew its citizens were not allowed to protect themselves! I know...one big cycle of violence, right? Bust on the weaker gun laws themselves if you want, but don't preach to the ones who actually follow the rules.

Go to www.Gangstasindahood.com and go complain to them! And I thought we were friends!

Oh yeah, still looking for good places to store one in the E60....getting back on topic. I think I underestimated my comments in Post #2....followed by the words, "Flame on!"

I'm not sure how comparing automobile accidents which occur mainly due an unitentional human error rebutts the the action of pulling the trigger on someone and blowing him away (in self defense or not - mainly intentionally)...
