I understand that the m-sport sits higher than the sports suspension, but I was assuming that perhaps the springs and shocks were stiffer.
Not sure if ARS is MB only but ACE was BMW's/Land Rover name for the same.

That's the truly odd thing... I have never seen a magazine test that showed the M5 pulling more than .89g on a skidpad. Car and Driver uses the same diameter pad and corrects for conditions for each car it tests, so making comparisons between cars they have tested is as relevant and valid as possible. They got .89 for the M5, and .90 for the 530i Sport with Dunlop RFTs...
Could it be the weight from the V10?

Funny, I have been searching the various online articles to confirm the general forum belief that the US Sport package sits 1" lower... I haven't been able to confirm it though. You may be correct, but the body of posted information here indicates it should be lower.
I did happen to run across Car and Driver comparing the E39 sport to the E60 sport...
"With a flat body, nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution (thanks to extensive use of aluminum up front), and wide 245/40WR-18 Dunlop run-flats, our test car rocketed around the skidpad with minimal understeer at a stunning 0.90 g. By comparison, the previous 530i with a Sport package pulled 0.82"

BTY, those anti-roll bars have to be split in the middle right? Then they are really just independent but variable torsion bar springs.
I find squeals, squeaks and rattle un-acceptable and I laugh in the face of any manufacturer who tells me the sounds are ?normal?. I ask you? are the noises included on the standard features list?
