I understand that the m-sport sits higher than the sports suspension, but I was assuming that perhaps the springs and shocks were stiffer.
Not sure if ARS is MB only but ACE was BMW's/Land Rover name for the same.

...but I just have the general impression that the m-sport suspension handles better since it shares much of it's components from the M5.
That's the truly odd thing... I have never seen a magazine test that showed the M5 pulling more than .89g on a skidpad. Car and Driver uses the same diameter pad and corrects for conditions for each car it tests, so making comparisons between cars they have tested is as relevant and valid as possible. They got .89 for the M5, and .90 for the 530i Sport with Dunlop RFTs...
Could it be the weight from the V10?

I'm pretty sure Sport sits at the same height as the standard suspension. Unlike the E39, the E60 sport vs non-sport share the same ride height.
Funny, I have been searching the various online articles to confirm the general forum belief that the US Sport package sits 1" lower... I haven't been able to confirm it though. You may be correct, but the body of posted information here indicates it should be lower.
I did happen to run across Car and Driver comparing the E39 sport to the E60 sport...
"With a flat body, nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution (thanks to extensive use of aluminum up front), and wide 245/40WR-18 Dunlop run-flats, our test car rocketed around the skidpad with minimal understeer at a stunning 0.90 g. By comparison, the previous 530i with a Sport package pulled 0.82"

I believe that I can HEAR my ARS system in action. I am about to bring this to the attention of my service center.
I swear I hear a high pitched constant-rate squeal when the car is entering into, and exiting out of certain attitudes that would normally call the anti-roll bars into play.
As the suspension loads up I hear it, then it ceases while no state change is occurring and then starts again while the car returns to straight and level and finally ceases until next attitude change.
Sounds similar to a brake squeal but is always constant-rate regardless of car speed, acceleration or deceleration.
Don?t you think I should be able to disable ARS by killing all DSC? Then I could run same road sections expecting auxiliary noises to be gone. When DSC switch is held down until scary warnings appear it means ALL active systems are shut down including steering, roll and traction, correct?
I think the hydraulic slave motor connected to the anti-roll bar ?differentials or actuators?? is making the squealing noises in my car.
BTY, those anti-roll bars have to be split in the middle right? Then they are really just independent but variable torsion bar springs.
I find squeals, squeaks and rattle un-acceptable and I laugh in the face of any manufacturer who tells me the sounds are ?normal?. I ask you? are the noises included on the standard features list?
Thank you, I feel better now!
