My car had the door rubbers replaced this week. The creaking was still there. They then removed the rear parcel shelf and packed it with foam. Creaking still there.

What next?

The creak happens whenever the chassis flexes at low speed going up a slight incline at an angle, speed bumps etc.

Also, when going at slow speed along a bumpy road there is a chirping sound coming from the rear.

It's driving me (and the dealer) crazy.

Did they fit the new ones with the yellow dot ?

Have you had someone drive with you in the back of the car to help determine exactly where the noise is comming from ?

They ordered the new rubbers specially for me. Is the dot visible once they have been installed? I am going to do a test with the doors open to see if the noise is still there.
Yes the SA sat in the back and determined that the noise was coming from the parcel shelf this iw hy the chose to do the foam trick which did not work.

Streak,
You may recall that I had exactly the same creaking noise as you under exactly same conditions i.e. flexing/inclines. This was fixed by my dealer at the end of May when the grille at the base of the rear screen was replaced with a new part. My car is now totally creak free and is a pleasure to drive. I suggest you get the same part replaced.

Hi Mark-Yorkshire,
Thanks for the input. Please tell me what grille you are refering to?
I checked the base of the rear seat, ie. the position that your heels would touch if you were sitting in the back seat (assumng you had short legs) and there is no grille there.

Streak,
It is the full width grille that is visible at the back edge of the parcel shelf that meets with base of rear screen. I am sure that the creaks I had were the same as yours. Hope this helps.

I have the same creaking problem although my rubbers were replaced. I am definite its the rubber because after applying some cream on them, the creaking stopped. So much for improved rubbers.

Where is the yellow dot that we're supposed to spot? I cannot seem to find it on the rubbers.

Only men would be so confused! You're not supposed to replace the door's condoms (aka "rubbers"); you are supposed to replace the door "seals". No wonder you still have squeaking problems with your doors
