I believe you should name your car Bumblebee. Clearly the car is hinting at something. haha.

This happened to me in my MINI last year. It only happened once. I was turning a corner and suddenly my door just popped and swung open. When I pulled it shut, I noticed the door was still locked. Very curious and I hope this is not a normal thing. Make sure you're wearing your seatbelts, folks.

Coincidentally, there was a police car about 3 cars back. I did not get pulled over nor do I think the police noticed the door swinging open.

I was, as usual, getting to 60mph as fas as possible when I saw the patrol car up ahead. I got off the gas and on the brakes as fas as possible and the next thing I know my door opened. Going down the highway at 60+ and my door cracks open?

2008 535i.

Anyone had this happen?
maybe the door electronics got triggered by cop's radar gun....

I would consider that a possibility as I was in the middle of a line of 10 MINIs (a club drive) when it looked like the cop was tracking our speed.

I enjoyed the humor you guys had with my post and thanks for the help. Never did take it in to the dealer but I'll eventually talk to them the next time I go in.

Thanks!

you do slam your door good when closing it, right?
if this is so then he will get a warning light and sound saying to the door is not closed.
so I dont think it is this.
