dme and seat heater recalls... just got car back

northern california (bay area) experience.... No Nav.... early production 545 - Sports, Cold weather, and preimium sound pkgs... (Oct 03 birthdate ! !)
DME update went fine.... brought car in at 9am, by 2pm SA calls to say DME completed w/no hiccups etc. ( I would not let them do this w/o a backup TCU in stock- they understood my concern - they had a similar vintage 545 in for a week and had to replace TCU. The DME update procedure also updates iDrive if it's not the current version (or so says the SA who is quoting the Master Tech - is it BS? - only subtle iDrive differences, and active steering is a tad heavier)
SEAT HEATER Recall.... not so good. Driver side seat leather needs to be replaced- Burnt but not burnt-through. As you might guess, leather is backordered- they tell me germany has 83 sets on back-order. Probably 1 month away- at best. I'm kind of upset that i cannot use the seat heaters but hey, i live in norcal.... i can live with the cabin heater. If i lived in a colder area, i might be a bit more upset- but what can you do ? Recall seat heaters in winter? ... you can almost predict the backorder thing.
Lastly, the loaner was 330xi, past loaners have been 530i and Z4.... the 545 ride is far superior in many ways. It's more $$ but the performance difference is important to me.
