Since you get the rattling with the car stationary that should rule out a drive shaft problem.
I think the culprit is the clutch release bearing,(the small part in the pic.) Attachment 70887
unfortunately this means a complete clutch job, the parts won't break the bank but a tranny drop is required.

yes I was told that I need it a new transmission, but today they told me that even replacing the transmission the noise won't go away because what it needs to be replaced is the drive shaft. as I mentioned before I have all documents when I had my car in for that noise (couple times)and they told me it was normal. right now I am on cpo.. so hopefully they agree to replaced under those circumstances..
