got some snow/ice last sunday, on the drive home negotiating a right hand turn into my neighborhood at around 20 mph, the rear end just started sliding towards the left, i immediately turned the wheel to where i wanted the car to go, stepped on the brakes and felt abs come on, that brought the car to a complete stop, at least a foot away from the curb! what a close call! moral lesson: ice will always be ice no matter how good of a driver one is...imho

Do you have snow tires? I understand that ice is extrememly difficult if not impossible to negotiate, but I've had great experience with the snow tires. Had Dunlop M2's put on the car in December. It gives a somewhat bumpy ride at high speeds (over 75 mph) but the difference on snow is remarkable. The contrast between the summer tires and snows is unbelievable. I couldn't do anything on the snow with the summer tires.

no snow tires as the car is not really a daily driver, i really just believed the weather forecast and being a victim of it. they did call for snow/ice later that evening but it came almost 7 hours early...

Be careful out there gonzo. Ice is ice, no matter the technology even. A good sheet of ice at a high enough speed will render all technology helpless.

Keep those Hartges off the road until the middle of March!
