In the USA I dont think the mettalic paint does anything for the re-sale value. The jet-black paint (non-metallic) is the number 1 color ordered..
Also in the US they have the alpine white (Not sure if it is metallic), when here in the UK - you have a bigger chance being hit by lightning than seeing a white E60

The numbers may be a factor.
There is, though, value in saved opportunity cost in possibly being able to secure a quicker sale.

Unlike here in the UK and maybe the rest of the EU where metallic is essential.
Also in the US they have the alpine white (Not sure if it is metallic), when here in the UK - you have a bigger chance being hit by lightning than seeing a white E60![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)

The difference on my pcp - at ?310 a month, was ?6 for ?640 metallic over 4 years. Thats ?400 lost in value, over the 4 years, from the extra ?640. Thats not earth shattering is it?
try a few quotes from this co, and look at the residual values

IMHO for a fair proportion of e60 drivers the running costs of the car (lease or residual) is outweighed by style, convenience and performance add-ons.

There are those e60 owners who don't put a priority what their e60 costs them. To buy. To run. To sell.
Their priorities are focused on choices to enhance style, comfort or performance.
Hope that helps.
