My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

I am partial to black, however, if you are buying from a BMW dealer, I would be hard pressed to find out why that car is not a CPO. Was it in a major accident? Was it re-painted? Does it have a poor mechanical history? Etc. If this is from a private seller or a non-BMW dealer, I would make sure I'd get get it inspected by a third party and then go for the color of my choice, in your case black. Good luck.
