Black 05 BMW 545i with 33k miles and original warranty to expire in August, non CPO but I can buy 3rd party extended warranty to it.

or

Same car with 53k miles CPO until 4/2011, no original warranty. Silver gray metallic.

Both cars are similarly priced and equipped.

I like the black car better and it looks cleaner in the picture but I m having a hard time deciding

Get the black one.

From experience, buy the color you want when you have the opportunity. You don't want to regret it. And like you said you can always buy ext warranty later.

The fact you already said you like the black one more makes this a no brainer. Get the one you want and deal with warranty BS after.

get the black one. when buying a used car, color choices are not always an option. if you like black, get it... of course if you are willing to put forth the effort to maintain it.

Pick the one you like best, and then have an independent mechanic that you choose (not the dealer) check it out. NEVER buy a used car without an inspection, even if it is under warranty. the 05 545 has had it's share of problems and you don't want to get burned.
