My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.

I know that I'll be the minority here, but the SMG regardless of what it's in SUCKS. It starts like a go cart and the automatic mode will give you whiplash. I don't understand why SMG is so popular - a traditional manual would be 100% better.

The SMG style shift is the next evolution. To all those that think a normal stick shift offers more performance, check out a Formula One car. They are the pinnacle of automotive technology. Consistantly faster shifts and keeping both hands on the wheel while driving 10/10ths is where its at... for me.
