When the CAR shifts you are not as prepared for the shift so it appears that you feel it more.
If you are a true SMG enthusiast, you would not even consider the auto-mode as anything more than a spouse-mode or valet-mode.
My current car's Sport Auto does not have an abrupt 2-1 downsift.
