Default Boot wont open

530i boot wont unlock either by the latch fob or key. Back seats are fixed so can't access to open from inside. Any advice please? Thanks

What do you mean by the latch? It's odd how the mechanical key won't open it. Seems like your trunk latch mechanism is stuck.

Yes, the button on the boot is what I meant by the latch. How to solve the issue is the problem as can't access via the back seats. They are fixed and don't move whatsoever

Does your trunk not have a mechanical key cylinder? Were all doors unlocked when you tried the boot button?

When pressing the unlock button on fob all other doors open ok except the boot, the boot open button won't open it either or manually with the key in boot lock

Are you sure you're turning the manual key far enough? You should be able to go counter clockwise between the 9 and 10 o'clock position. It may take extra effort if the actuator is jamming the latch.

I have a 2008 528i. Had the same problem, turned out I needed to turn the metal key a bit further, like donpb said it requires extra effort. I finally got it open but then the latch would not engage to close it. In trying to close it repeatedly I messed up the latch. Took it to dealership and they told me a couple wires were broken as well as the latch. In all, they charged me $850 for the repair.

When my trunk latch would not engage, I disconnected the wiring loom in order to keep my trunk closed. I located three broken wires that I decided to fix myself.
