I went to the beamer website for the US today and tried to register my car and name with owners circle but when i entered my vin# it said it did not recognize it.I took delivery of my 5er here in germany does that have anything to do with it?

 

I believe that the Owners Circle is for BMW NA customers. Don't know if there is something comparable in Europe. Do you live in Germany or are you there for European Delivery of a car you'll eventually take back to the US?

 

That's in fact for BMW NA customers only, but on www.bmw.de you can sign up for something similar like it (mein BMW).
Signing up just works if your VIN is registered for the country, so if you try to sign up with a German spec cars VIN for the USA or with a US spec car's VIN for Germany it doesn't work.

I've just checked BMW's UK website and didn't find such a owners circle where you have to sign up for.

Maybe BMW UK doesn't do this... ?!?

 

Here is the deal with US cars in Europe. Our cars are bought through BMW NA. Our warrenty and service is through BMW AG. So you cannot use the owners cirlce if you are registered through BMW AG. When you return to the states and register under BMW NA you will be able to access the Owners Circle.
