Is there an adapter available that I can buy to use my android phone with the factory aux. Cable on my 08 e60

What's your intention? To use Bluetooth or just get phone audio to your speakers?

Bluetooth-FM Adapter is the cheapest. Or you can purchase an expensive NBT retrofit head unit.

I've been doing this hack for years, which is I burn a bunch of songs to a CD and them play that in my car's disc player. One disc can hold like 10 hours of music.

has anyone had an issue where the aux plug installed in glove box plays at a lower volume as well as base than radio or the cd does? when i say lower i mean significantly lower.

It sounds like you may have an impedance mismatch between the AUX input and whatever device you're using.
