Yeah, looking at EBMCS03 posting, looks like velcro/double sided tape and wax string would do the job. I don't want to drill the bumper for sure...
One more thing that's funny is when the cop asked for my license, of course he meant driver license, but because it's still 6:30 in the morning, had not had my coffee, etc. I gave him my front license plate instead of my driver license, he was cracking up...
way to go eko

I never ever heard a person being pulled over JUST for no plate. Most of the time, they just tack it on to a ticket, like if you were speeding.

I still have my dealer tags still on.... its been almost a year.
Back in '04, just had the the car for only 3 months. I got pulled over by a cop. He told me the reason i got pulled over was because i had no front license plate. This was in the cities of Diamond Bar/City of Industry areas in evening. He gave me a fix it ticket for that. He was about to give me another fix-it for having tinted windows. He asked how long have i had it, and let me go on that one.

And then he put his head and hands on the front headlights....to check/read the letterings to make sure it is a stock bmw oem headlight. Are you kidding me? At that point, i was about to high beam him.

Here in Philly, you don't need front plates, but right ova the bridge in New Jersey you need plates. I wear a plate on Angel, because it makes her look sexy, plus I had the plate left from the Porsche......So I screwed it on..........Didn't want to do it BUT...it's sexy. To bad you can't wear a foriegn plate in Cali!!!!

I really hate the look of a front license plate so I never put one on. I got a ticket for no reason today other than the fact that I had no front plate. Now i have to get one put on. Does anyone know of a mounting bracket that won't require me to drill into my M-tech kit? Maybe one that mounts from under and comes out to hold the plate? I really really really do not want to drill into my bumper. Any help would be great.

Do you think they'd leave you alone if you put the plate in the front windshield of my 5 while i'm parked?
I used to think the same thing a long time ago when I was in college. Then I got a fix-it ticket for having the front plate displayed on the front right corner of the dash on my then-new 92 Honda Accord. When I went to pay the ticket, police told me the vehicle code states that the front plate can't be mounted in such a way that it is not clearly legible/viewable, especially when mounted more than 60 inches from the ground. When a plate is displayed on the dash regardless of position, it isn't clearly legible/viewable from certain angles especially when glare/sunlight reflects off the windshield.

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel! Previous cars retired: 2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...

Just use double face tape, get it inspected, and then pull it off.
Yep, this is how I did it with my Corvette

I went to the trouble of getting a custom European tag that matched my read license plate
and after 4 months got pulled over by a cop shooting laser on our freeway.
Tried to tell him the plate served the same purpose but got the ticket anyway.
Had an attorney friend who was working downtown on the court day and he
negotiated a deal with the city to drop the ticket and just pay court costs so I got over on them
by $25. He got a good pic of the license plate with his magnified laser gun scope.
What a jerk - somtimes I think they give BMW warnings on anything because they know we drive overlimit most of the time.
