anyone ever heard of lubrizol?

My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i

dealer said my steering groan is normal, so i've been doing some searching on the net.
i was reading on the mercedes forums, and some people have been using an additive called lubrizol with succes.
should i try it?

Well, my used '04 530i was just in the dealer for the airbag recall fix, and I had previously found on these forums the issue of the steering/grinding noise (mine was happening at low speeds). Anyway, they flushed the system and added new fluid as well as lubrizol and that did the trick--no more noise. Problem was, it cost me $200 (out of warranty)

yeah, i get the whine/groan only at low speeds also. i think i'm going to try it.
does bmw sell lubrizol? i was going to get it at the benz dealer, since i know they stock it.

Bmw sell it. It's called BMW lubrizol 6178. 50 ml black bottle.
Just bought one.
