I agree with all the others. With a good set of winter tires, you will be fine. The mistake that too many people make is leaving on the sport tires for the winter. That is a disaster waiting to happen. Those tires get rock hard and have zero traction in the snow and ice.

Love it in the snow, great fun as opposed to fwd. Have also been to Ostersund in sweden pulling a caravan in January (just south of the polar circle) and that's no sweat. There are occassions when you are stuck, if snow is very heavy. Then you have to disengage the dtc both stage 1 and 2' to get the tyres to spin sufficiently to rock the car free, as the dtc retards the engine power too much, but you thankfully have that option and that's also the happy button that makes snow driving fun - do be careful with stage 2 (full off) as the car is heavy, will slide and is quite a handful so I recommend against it on public roads. Have fun.

I was driving for about 4 months in full snow conditions and by the looks of it will do again this year. No problem whatsoever,it actually
outhandled quite a few fwd and rwd cars, including the 3 series! Excellent stability, i think the stability system on this car is a piece of art. I will recommend though not to take the DTC off unless you're prepared to have some.... fun.
From the comments i read just confirms what i was saying all along about rwd cars and the industry wanting to promote fwd.
Either way i can only say this -and admit to it- be careful on snowed uphill roads. This is the only weak point of any rwd car. You car might struggle to actually drive up!

Car is barely manageable in light snow conditions but 4 snow tires transform it into a tank. Like others have said, use of the DTC is recommended unless you get stuck. This car is fun to drive on snow.

Does your car have all season tires? Snow tires help traction, but more importantly they help you stop on snow. Dedicated snow tires are a relatively cheap investment and necessary, in my opinion, for anyone who does any driving in the snow.
