Black on Black?! Does it get any more boring than that? Dude get a fun/exotic color. I just picked up my M5 yesterday and got it in Indy Red and the comments/stares I get are awesome. I loveee it

I went ahead with the order for the 550i with Bamboo trim.

I got the active steering and I threw in the fold down rear seats.

I also went with the ventilated seats (I live in Miami, so this will be a neat feature). I had to buy the Black basca leather to make this work.

She is now a $76k MSRP.

I am getting the production number tomorrow.

Any other thoughts on the trim before it is too late? What is the gray trim on the M5?
I feel a little guilty getting the 550i rather than the 535i. Ah, who am I kidding? Not guilty at all.

The only add ons will be the (1) black grill, (2) tinting of the windows, (3) lowering springs, and (4) spacers.

Kid in the candy store today, but I have been in this site for a bit, and having a nice car has become a hobby.

Well done and congrats! I cheaped out as my MSRP was only $71K.

I would bag the active steering and comfort access.

If i had a choice to buy another car right now i would so get the 535 over the 550. The 535 fuel efficient and because its turbo maybe in a few years they will have some nice upgrades for the engine. The 550i cost much more in terms of fuel and the price. That's my opinion, GL with what you decide. But if your doing a lease doesn't really matter you will end up with a new car after a few years from now.

Forgive my ignorance but I thought sport seats were same as comfort seats.
To answer your question Kzang, this is true for 07 model years and later. They are not the same in earlier models.

There are oodles of threads here about 535 vs. 550. They are both great cars. I just love displacement. The 550's power is effortless.

So what didn't you get?
I did not get the lane warning feature. I think that there is some kind of parking feature as well with the camera. I also did not get the cold weather package (I live in Miami, FL), but my ventilated seats come with heated seats anyway.

The things that I got that were total excesses were the ventilated seats, active steering, and heads up display (but I will actually enjoy these features on a day to day basis).

I don't spend a lot of money on other things in life, so this will be my little toy. I paid $1500 over invoice for a 2010, so I got a really good deal.

I thought about getting the 535i (and I waivered), but at the end of the day, it would still be a 535i.

The NAV was $1900 more on the 535i (standard on the 550i), and there were a few other things that made the price not as bad at the end of the day.

$1500 over invoice for a custom ordered 2010 is decent. My prior 2 BMWs were about $1,000 (E39 540i Sport at the very end of the production run) and $750 (current car) over dealer cost (invoice plus MACO plus training fee). But both were from dealer stock.
