Just got my car back, for a couple of hours ago, with 17.1 loaded into the car.

Now I don't have the LED's !! :'( :'( I've even lost voice control... I'm going back tomorrow. I just gotta have the voice control back...

Sorry to hear that E60Sim.

17.1 does seems a Pandora box, you'll never know what you gonna get: no LED's, bluetooth problems, no voice control (I've just ordered this one as a retrofit), the list is growing.

On the other hand our US mates seem quite happy with it (with one reported exception AFAIK).

I'm starting to believe it's one of those versions to skip over, at least in Europe.

The LED issue happened with 16.1 right ? My BT is working fine but I had to pair again with the phone. I don't have voice control so I can't help out. On the other hand IMO the steptronic was really improved with 17.1. We have to choose ! We can't always get what we want

Got the car back from the first oil change.

Re LED's: nothing new to report that isn't already known to the forum

Dealer did it's homework and called the service hotline.

They were instructed not to try to repair the LED's, and inform customer it's a known problem and a fix is being investigated.

At least they solved my self-levelling suspension error (so they say, must confirm loading some cargo on the trunk).

Yeah, your right, LED's seem to have gonne off since 16.1.

And steptronic is far more important than any cosmetic LED's, so if they had to prioritize they obviously choose well.

Sometimes our emotional side takes over, and we end paying to much attention to details.

So we need some emotional rescue

I assume your DRL's are activated. If you want no lights at all you can have the dealer de-activate the DRL's and then keep the light switch in the off position.....that way no lights will be on unless you turn them on.

It sounds like BMW has 2 software versions on the market(one US the other Europe)or they have something different with the hardware in US and Europe or both?
