Just curious, did anyone who got a loaner have to sign a mileage agreement?

I guess BMW has stepped their game up in recent years to match Lexus and Acura- with regard to their loaner cars.

In Dec. 2002 when I test drove a 7, the salesman at Classic BMW in Richardson, TX (Now in Plano, TX) told me the only time they put BMW owners in loaner BMW's is if they owned a 750iL, 760Li and 8 series, or higher (this was before the Z8 came out, I do believe).

So, if you have a 745 and below- you didn't get a loaner BMW.

Not sure how true it is, but that came right from the salesman's mouth.

------------------------

Any company that gives you a loaner car is nice... If you own a reular car, all you'd get is-

1.) Free doughnuts and coffee in the waiting area.
2.) A ride to work or home in the courtesy van.
3.) Ample time to browse the lot and look at all the new cars.

A Camry, while not a Bimmer- to me- beats all those above three options.

Actually, I can confirm they still do that- Just recently, my friend took his 7 to Classic for repair (someone broke his door handle while trying to steal it) and they gave him a Ford Focus as a loaner. A red Ford Focus.

745Li to a Ford Focus.

When they took the GL in for service, Ewing Mercedes gave them a C300.

Never.
Me neither. Every time I got a BMW loaner, all I had to do was bring it back with no damage and the same amunt of gas. The inspection lasted all of ten seconds.

But when I dropped off my wife's MB for warranty work. I had to sign a mileage agreement (100 miles max). At first, I didn't care because we were walking toward a brand new C class with AMG wheels (I shoulda known better), but it turned out to be just a plain C300. The rep went over every little scratch as if it was her own car.

I'm more concerned with cost of service and quality of repair than I am with how I get to work and back to the dealer....
