Mine is just under a year old and with 13,000 miles and the only times it's been in for service is for an oil change and to raise the HUD image. I agree with everything you wrote. This is my first BMW with stops at Audi, MB and Lexus and nothing comes close. I just love the car.

I can't agree more -- my old (retired) 545 still brought me joy every day and now the new 550 just keeps getting better and better. I'm doing a small road trip tomorrow (2 hours each way) and I can't wait!

(doug_999, you can get the ventilated seats on the non-M cars... )

Don't hold back now, let us feel the love....

Your car is so shiny it's blinding me. But I did detect a slight smudge on your rocker panel. Shame on you!

I've driven that stretch of I-65 that you're talking about dozens of times. The variance in the quality of road and the level of traffic is truly amazing. At times, like near Valparaiso, the road is CRAP. Yet 50 miles later, near West Lafayette, its smooth sailing!

Do you get to Indy often? I'm about 2 hours south, but I'm up there quite often on business.

Holler at me next time you're heading that way and perhaps I'll be near enough to get our cars together...kinda like a play group for kids!

Correct - provided you are willing to fork out the cash for them and know about Priority 1 options

Still have yet to see a 5-series on a dealer lot with them however. M5 is a different story....

I?ve owned my 550i for two years now and I think I enjoy it more now than ever - it still puts smile on my face every day.

The 550 handled every condition with ease - never faltered, never rattled, never surprised. Oh, and I averaged 26.7 miles per gallon for the whole trip. What a machine.
Great to hear!!! I'm almost at 2 years too...not one problem! I do believe this is the greatest sedan...EVER! Glad to see someone get some open highway mileage numbers...I'm closing in on 50K freeway miles but have never been close to the mid 20's in mpg, it must be those ultra flat roads in southern IL and Indiana!!!!

I agree with all your comments. I love my 550i too! Instant power and torque. So smooth......
