My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
First model years do have more problems for obvious reasons. My 1997 E39 and 2004 E60 (first model years) had many more problems, some major, than my 2002 E39 and 2008 E60.

My Ride: 06 550i - Sport, CWP, Logic 7
550i has a start button and new key, the 545i does not have a start button (no comfort access) and old key.
Also, the door handles are different, the 550i has a round back, the 545i has a square back, the round back is more comfortable to touch.
