Hi Andy
Great video clips!!!? Did you mount the cam on the headrest legs??
On my way over to see Iceman and Kigerka 2 days ago, I found a piece of the A3 relatively empty and I took this photo with my 6230 phone:
Attachment 6416
Unfortunately, I didn't have a long enough clear stretch to go right to the top (the car has had the limiter removed...) but I think the car will do at least 170mph considering I was just under 5K rpm with another 1300 rpm or so to go and the speedo needle couldn't go any further.? At the time of the pic, the car was doing 160mph as displayed by the on board computer.

How did the meetup go with the mods??
I saw Kigerka's mod...very nice.
So is the heated sports steering wheel doomed or still in there with a chance for the paddles mod?
BTW, did you get your Vmax lifted as part of a tuning program or is it possible just
to program the Vmax de-restriction specifically? I'm interested.
TIA
Oh, and yeah, the camera was fixed on the left side of the head rest. Used the
power buttons to lift the head rest, place camera in between, lowered slightly the head rest to tighten it and used some duck tape carefully to stabilise it. It's easy.

Andy - The whistling noise you hear above 220 is indeed a known manufacturing defect in the E60.? There was a discussion about this but I can't find the thread.? Iceman and I have both had the problem.? BMW replaced my windshield under warranty no questions asked.? Problem solved.

It's funny you say that UltraPlanet.
This afternoon a stress crack developed on the left hand side of my windscreen.
It was probably caused by a stone chip that went unnoticed, it's barely 1mm but
right on the edge. Gave way today.
Getting new windscreen on Friday. Completely covered.
Since the most likely solution for the high pitch noise would have been windshield replacement anyway, it's getting done one way or another. Hopefully it will solve that particular problem.
Dennis told me he had the same type of crack. E60 windshields getting factory installed too tight. What's the story??
Got some pics...notice the chip right on the edge. Pre-existed apparently. I found the windshield cracked up as I was leaving work today. Gave way under the sun's heat or something. Makes you wonder. I advise everyone to ckeck for chip/nicks
in close proximity to the windshield edge.

The sound of that engine gives me goosebumps..

And it's amazing how the Steptronic throws in the gears.. It's hard to see how you should do that faster with a manual 6-speed.

Great video! I was searching for something like that to compare with my M3 performance, since I am looking to replace it with E60.
Just check out my vid - http://66.225.211.242/~m3life/data/m3-0-220.avi
the performace is same!
