This asks for a head to head 535d vs 545i video!

I think it will be close up to 160-180, the 545i wil start to walk away slowly after 160-180.

A 80-160 sprint would be nice as wel!l

As fine an automobile as the 535d is, I don't think it would be that close on a straight 0 to top speed sprint.

There used to be a discussion a while back about a high pitch sound coming from the center of the car. It turned out that the windshield had a small gap and had to be resealed. You may want to check it out.

Great video though.

Interesting. I'll look into it. The high pitch sound, similar to something resonating,
occured after 240km/h....makes sense.
Do you remember the thread?

Thanks.

I agree, but I never said that. Wouldn't be good if the 535d would be faster; a diesel car, 61 horsepower less, 2 cylinders less....

Sorry 535d people, but the 545 will walk away from the deisel from the start. with equal drivers. It's the hp/weight ratio that determines acceleration, not the torque of the engine. The 545 runs the quarter mile in 13.7 @103. At the end of a quarter mile, the 545 will be about 3 carlengths ahead.

The 535d is an amazing deisel, but it's not in the same league as the 545 in terms of straight line speed.
