That was in the days when we though it might be good idea to hire UK based drivers. After a few similar experiences we gave up on it though.?
Can I pm you with some business ideas I'd like to run by you?

"Travel with us, we have numerous satisfied customers" like those guys which collected money from truck load of Chinese "emigrants" few years back. Those "emigrants" never complained. Only two survived. :'(

Sorry to get back on to topic!!
Just spoke to BMW here. No reports of turbo failures.
Our environment is quite harsh being hot and at altitude. When the 320D first launched there was a recall because of the many turbo failures which has now been resolved.

Sorry that went little off topic.
I miss Cape town and Durban, has to visit there some time again. I never had problems with violence, but my local girl frend had. Black gang robbed her BWM 328, spectacles, purce... almost everything. How about taxiwar?
Hope everything gets better down there.

Well, my car has now been at the dealer for 7 days. I have not received any form of communication from them at all to say what is happening. I told you all that service here in the UK is non-existent. To top it off I received a questionnaire from BMW Emergency Service in the post this morning asking me how my experience of their service has been. Am I going to have fun filling that one in!! I may even phone them instead to voice my disgust at the lack of customer service I have received. Unbelievable.
I have now done nearly 1200 miles on the dealer's new loan 530d. And some kind soul in a Vauxhall (GM) Vectra through up a large stone this morning which put a nice chip on it's bonnet.
I also discovered today that the tow truck driver who picked up my car said that he has been called out to an average of 3 failed turbo's on 3 and 5 series cars a week. When he takes them to my dealer the techs apparently groan "not another turbo!". Seems that BMW have a problem here that they are keeping very quiet. Oh well, only another 6 to 7 weeks of ownership for me before I collect my new X5 and switch dealers. I sincerely hope they are more customer focused.
