5-series Straight-line Performance Discussion

I realize I have a '6, but, figuring it's a g-tech forum.........
3981lbs(including me)
.3pitch
set RPM at 1500
car had me only in it, 1/8 tank of gas
2 runs on my lunch break .
1- 0-60 with dsc off 4.91, no 1/4 mile(not enough road)
2- 0-60 4.88, chirpped 1st &2nd gear,dsc completely off, 13.14 1/4 mile, 109.77mph
328hp measured
346lb/ft tq
.76 "g's"
.........I realize the g-tech may or may not be 100% accurate, but these runs "felt" really strong as well. BTW, On these 2 I tried something a little different, I was dragging the clutch while holding her at 1500rpm, but I also had my hand on my e-brake preventing roll(kinda like power-braking it with an auto) while holding the thumb-button in, when I took off, I released the e-brake, fed the power in with the clutch, and rolled the gas pedal to the floor...(and quickly grabbed the shifter) weather was sunny, no humidity, 62 degrees,
400ft above sea level
That was fun

Doesn't matter what you have. A e60 or e63, it's a BMW.
Wow, that's great times. BTW, what e63 do you have? 650?

Oh, good times darren Nice to see another 6er participate. I have been soooo busy I have not contributed much in recent months. In need to update by figures with a well broke in 6er (47k miles ). Add more data under various conditions and see if you can get some 1/4 mile runs in as well to add to the body of data.
I have been playing with GPS to indicated speed comparison. Since that kinda falls under Straight line performance I will post a new post in this thread and see if anybody else has done similar test.

I said I was playing with the speedo calibrations and here is more info
Let me splain what you see and why. On another board we were discussing high speed runs and someone was using pics of speedo as representing "truth". When it was pointed out that the speedo reads high as a BMW policy the discussion switched to "how much" Many went off to see if they could get some GPS system to calibrate their e60 or e63. Well many of us have GPS built in so I ran some test using our internal GPS. This is pretty new data and I have not had a chance to get out someplace that is both quiet and a good road. So far I only have the "quiet" part available. The road is pretty rough so I am not comfortable going over 135 MPH so do not have any data yet over that mark. Using the idrive hidden menu to get to the "Position" page I then set about driving at the indicated speed and then take a GPS reading. These are the results. Some basic information is the BMW system, at least in my Florida east coast location, is using 8 GPS satellites in its solution. Whether that is the BMW limit or only what satellites are visible at that time of day I do not know. I will check on the number visible latter. But eight will produce a very accurate solution. Other factors, it appears that setting a speed may vary at least by +/- 0.5 mpg. Sometimes I go on high side and come down, take a measurement, and then come from under the desired speed and take another measurement. These vary from time to time. What I have done is to accept the ones that best fit a particular curve. Now looking at the data you will see significant steps. Are these GPS related or BMW algorithm related as they designed the speedo calibration. Again, I do not know. If others could contribute to this study we might formulate a reasonable hypothesis. Anyway here is the chart. The data represents the difference in MPH between the speedo reading and internal GPS reading with the speedo ALWAYS higher.
I also have included a sample GPS readout.
