majority of accidents happen with in 5 miles of your house...that mantra has kept many people wearing their helmets when they go for a quick bike ride.

my girlfriend is not phased by the chime. I could only count 12 chimes before I told to put on her seat belt.

i like the chime for the purpose of me wearing the seat belt all the time

I live in a small town also, before my 08 BMW, i would never wear my seat belt when driving around town. But now I am forced to wear my seatbelt everytime i get in my car, for which i am thankful. Its a good thing. I am not worried about me hitting someone at 20 mph, I am worried about the idiots and drunks that may hit me at 70 mph. Be happy that BMW is thinking of your safety.
