Nick,
Everytime I see you post your car interior, it's always naked in some way
If you have good connection with the tech, ask him to perform a swab for LED tail light for your car to see if you have any warning on iDrive.
Thanks a lot for detail pics
Hi my530i,

HaHaHa, my E60 has been NAKED for the last 3 months with the dash and CCC trim still off it as I have to swap Pro Nav parts back to Bus Nav for v25.x.x Progman update, then install Pro Nav parts back for the Pro Nav retrofit software upgrade. In Adelaide, BMW service have been really slow getting v25.x.x. I decided to wait and now I'm glad because of the improvements to the I-Drive and Pro Nav screens.

There is probably a fault with the bluetooth phone book transfer with this version.
no problems with a Nokia 6230i whatsoever...it seems even my voice recognition is faster and slightly more accurate !

Could it be the phone you're using ?

Hmmm, I was thinking to wait until the fall to get the s/w upgrade a few months before my warranty expires but all this chatter makes me want to book an appointment now... Ohh what to do, what to do!!
Depends if you have any issues that need to be resolved Mark. If v25 covers you on those issues, I would get it now. All the rest of the improvements will bring the level of driving quality/dynamics to a higher level ( engine/tranny : very smooth, brakes: tighter, HUD fonts: larger...)

5. Tranny is definately smoother. 1st and 2nd changeover is so completely smooth it's jaw-dropping. Slow traffic behaviour is very civilised with no jerky movements. The idle parameters below 5miles/h have been improved.
I've got a rough 1-2 shift - especially when cold. Did you have the same issue prior to 25? What version were you on?

It seems as though the V8s owners are raving over engine and transmission smoothness. Any 530i owners notice a difference after the update?

I drove my 2007 530xi in mixed driving today, some highway, some city. It had the Progman 25 programming yesterday. It seems smoother in shifting (esp. in DS mode), and I must be imagining this, but the exhaust note is a little deeper. Perhaps this is all due to spending two days driving the 2007 328xi loaner, with run-flat Bridgestone Turanzas mounted.

Another 'new' feature on the Pro Navi. On the small screen if you have set your display to any of the map views, the display will automatically jump to the Arrow view just before it give you a navigation instructions. Its the similar to the V24 update where Arrow view instructions would appear on the large screen in case you were on the i Drive home screen.

I can't say it was ever rough, below 10 miles/h the overall experience was a little jerky because of the high torque of the V8 at idle (creeping and so on ) - but that's about it.
Certainly, traffic speed creeping/stopping is very civilised now, also the recalibration of some sort that has taken place on the brakes has made this whole experience more civilised and smoother.
1st & 2nd changeover has definately made a marked impression on me..I was wondering what the experience of other members is from I6 engine but logically should be similar...

Some points:

1. Maybe your tranny is still "learning"
2. Cold engine: tranny will keep higher relative rpm on engine to expedite warming up. This has an inherent jerky changeover in itself and is normal. (I have this as well !)

In D and with warm engine you should have a reasonably smooth change in initial gears...
