Well I got it back today ................... the fuel consumption has improved dramatically.

A motorway journey that had been returning 35 mpg imperial has gone to over 40 mpg imperial.

ABC
Is there anything in this software upgrade to improve the fuel consumption? I had long given up any hope of BMW fixing the dire 20mpg I get round town (and 35mpg gently cross country) on a 530d, and don't see anything mentioned in the service bulletin.
But if there is something specific may push for this to be done before the warranty expires next month

On my 520D economy has improved a bit. If your warranty is expiring I would do it.

Not using the phone is a good excuse for a drive!

Dan, Nick forgot to post picture of the POI search menu, which in my view is the best feature. Also the POI entries themselves now are on multiple lines thus you don't loose any information just in case a lot of them start with "Holiday Inn...." and then you're wondering which one to choose.

Bruce

Is the Post Code search a result of the software update (V25) or a new 07-01 DVD ?

As you probably know, POI refers to Points of Interest.

UK Post Code Searching is a function of the way the data is arranged on DVD and is absent AFAIK only on Europe Professional 2006-02.

The NEW NEW 2007-02 DVD should be out in a few days.

Has anyone noticed that the 545 engine seems quieter after getting V25 installed? For the past year or so, possibly after a prior Progman update for the tranny slam, I noticed a slight ticking sound that seemed to be coming from the valve train - mostly on the right side, but some on the left as well. It wasn't real loud, it just sounded like slightly noisey valve lifters. I suspect it had something to do with Valvetronic lever slop, but whenever I reported it to the dealer, they said it was normal. Now after driving around for a bit with V25, the noise seems to be gone.
