Default 2008 528: Jolt and Delay when start from full stop

I have 2008 528. It jolts and delays 1 sec. to start rolling when I release break pedal at a red light. It happens in the morning only for the first 15 minutes or so from the cold start. Does not happen when in sport mode. I see some other E60 owners reporting the same problem, but there was no clear conclusion to this problem. Is it software? Is it sensors? Is it breaks? Thanks. John

Same exact issue here, morning and a few minutes fixes it as well. Personally always throw it in sport mode on reds to avoid it, I was told it was the mechatronic solenoids, however never looked into it beyond that.

Search "tranny slam" or "transmission slam" as this topic has been beaten to death here.

In short you're due for a transmission oil service and adaptation value reset. If that don't work then look into replacing the mechatronics solenoids. Good luck.

My money is on dirty and/or low AT fluid, or your Mechatronic (valve body) is on the way out.

I'm having some very sporadic shifting issues at 104K. I just changed the fluid and pan, and reset adaptations. It helped somewhat, but I still think I'll be rebuilding/replacing the valve body sooner than later.

good luck with the car.

Mine jolts from start and now and then when slowing to a near stop and accelerating away, it seems to delay a second and then its fine, always ok when moving just the stop or very slow bit. Any fixes yet? I have ordered the sump pan and oil, do you think that will do? Where are the Mechatronic/vavle body things? should that be done while sump is off?

Mine still jolts, but a lot less now I have changed the sump pan and oil.
Is the valve body easy to do?
