My Ride: 06 750Li, & 03 E500 & 06 550i
Guys, I just sold our 06 750Li. Was a great car and we loved it, but a little too big for the wife to manage around the parking garage at South Coast. I have been looking at the 06 and 07 550i and drove one the other day. Was a lot of fun with all of that same power we had before but a lot less weight to move.
I am looking at CPOs and I assume there werent many changes from 06 to 07? Looking at a few cars with lower miles, 30k and under with Premium and Sport Package, Nav and Harmon Kardon Logic 7. I assume it I get it loaded like that, it will automatically have Sirius? Is that standard with the Logic 7 option?
Naturally will upgrade from the 18s to either the M6 or M5 wheels, but in OEM I see a lot of options that all look great. Those are mostly 19s yes? or does BMW have a 20inch OEM wheel?
Mtech body or what I see on most 2008 or 2009s is hard to pass up. Anyone find a good deal on getting this update bought and installed?

The OEM M5 and M6 wheels are 19s but you can buy aftermarket replicas in 20s.
As for the M Tech kit, look through the Vendor and Private Member Classified sections in this forum and you should find some great deals. Trinity Autosport and EuroRev are two reputable sellers in SoCal that you can talk to.

Thanks Flyingpuck. I noticed something in your signature. Shadowline. The car I am getting that says it has that also. Is that the trim around the windows is matted in black versus Chrome or something else?
Also, anyone ever chip a 550i before. Is there a good one that is not just hype. Adds a little more HP and Torque and removes the top speed limiter?

Unless options changed between 06/07 and 08, my car has Logic 7 but does NOT have Sirius. My car was not a special order and I have wondered why it wouldn't have it as it seems almost standard these days.
As for the wheels, BMW does offer some 20s. Another option aside from the M5/M6 wheels would be the style 172 that come on the 08-10 550 M-techs if you happen to like these.
In regards to your shadowline question, yes that means that the trim around the windows will be matte black instead of brushed metal. Happy searching!
