80 pounds is surprisingly affordable, my big old 94 S-class remote-key cost me almost 300 USD. Which is like 150 pounds?

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel! Previous cars retired: 2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...

Agree, since it had the FOB in it expect a pricy key. Pay it and be done with the worry, keep the other as the spare.

I paid close to $ 300 USD for new Jeep Grand Cherokee key and Fob a few years ago, so $ 160 USD is nothing! Besides its an 03? You got 4 years out of it, get a new one.
