07 530i vs 08 535i

listen, i have had fuel pump problems 3 times. (3rd time now). it doesnt happen over night. first it starts with the long cranks, weeks go by, you start getting engine malfunction lights, which eventually leads to being stranded. IF IF IF it happens, just get it to the dealer before you are stranded. ALSO, i would say the HPFP is less common then it is more common.
I have driven a 530, there is no comparison. My car is FUN AS HELL to drive! it is so quick yet so refined. you cant beat the twin turbo (aside from the fuel pump!)

This post is a prime example of the BMW love/hate relationship

Mods: Tint (lolololol) any ideas?
I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
(WAAAAAYYYYY better than my previous MB E350, but quite a bit more expensive :( )
HAHAHAHAHA great response....GET THE 535i YO! I don't see the big question. I look at it this way. Having a 535i is like having a 528 and a 550 in one car. Yeah you don't get the V8 growl, but you definitely get just as fast a car. I have raced many 550s to there demise...maybe bad drivers but w/e....as for the 528 aspect, if you can control your right foot, then you can get EXCELLENT gas mileage. Freeway with conservative driving I can average 31 mpg...and 25 on the streets, but the seconds I start flooring it from one red light to another, it drops TREMENDOUSLY to 15-16 ish...GET THE 535i and TAKE CARE OF IT, and you will have no issues

I've had both vehicles. The 535i was very nice....when it worked. The HPFP issue was a pain, especially after the 3rd time being fixed. I will never own another N54 engine again. Hopefully the 2011 5 series will fix the problem. The 530i was a good vehicle, not as fun to drive as the 535i but ALOT more reliable. Hope this helps.
