Hi all,
Thinking about purchasing either the 2007 530i (sports package) or the 2008 535i (sports package)
In terms of looks/atheistic appeal...which is better? are there major differences?
In terms of reliability which is better? Assume each has around 30k miles
Thanks!

aesthetics:
2007 would be a pre-LCI, 2008 would be an LCI so..

in terms of performance: 535>530 due to the twin turbo engine. Which may also be the "Achilles" of the 535i, the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) is a known problem for some 535i/N54 engines....

Now, in 2008 the E60 series got Life Cycle Impulse (LCI). Redesigned headlights, tail lights, front bumper, rear bumper, trunk, along with interior upgrades.
The 535i is a lot more refined than the 530i. The 535 also has 300hp coming from a twin turbo I6 engine with very nice low end torque.
Reliability wise, the 535i is not going to be as reliable as the 530i, unfortunately the 535i is known to have fuel pump issues, the warranty on these fuel pumps has been increased to 10 years or 100,000 miles if I'm not mistaken.

I'd go for the '08 535 ... gets you extra time on the factory warranty and a number of new features in the LCI edition. Are both CPO'ed?
