In my opinion tho older 3.0 with no turbo(yes the less powerfull one) Will be more reliable. No question about it. The LCI is much nicer. This is true. It mostly comes down to preference. Go for the newer one if You can afford it, but saying that buy 535 because it can be fixed is nonsense just my 2.

I'm sure I'm missing something here...but why is CPO important on an '08 car...which a 50K/4 Year warranty? Does the CPO warranty extend bumper to bumper coverage to 100K miles?

It really doesn't matter, as the warranty on the fuel pump is independent from the regular manufacture warranty. Your normal warranty could run out but you would still retain the 10 year/100k mile fuel pump warranty.

CPO coverage is not bumper to bumper, it covers the main parts of the car...engine(and components attached to the engine...alternator, water pump, turbos...etc), transmission, differential...etc. It does NOT cover lights, most of the electronic...full info on coverage is available on the BMW website. CPO warranty does NOT cover maintenance. The extended maintenance warranty covers maintenance. That is an additional 2 years and and an additional 50k miles....so your maintenance would be covered for 6 years/100,000 miles.

Very possible But you wouldn't get the LCI head/tail lights, which make a HUGE difference in my opinion... but they also can be retrofitted, but if your buy M-Tech plus LCI lights, you might aswell get the 535i.

I've been on eBay, etc quite a bit lately checking out used BMWs. Very few 5ers are listed, and even fewer 535s. On the other hand, many slightly used 7 series are available. Heh, owners are happy with their 5ers (not trading in) and dealers are able to move the used units that come in.

Go on cars.com or autotrader and search within like 150-200 mile radius . You bound to find more then few cars in your price range take a ride every weekend sometimes it's worth it . Go to an area where most pppl own houses and the roads are good and you will know that the car is good check carfax which is given to you in the sites and you good to go. I drove like 120!miles to pa becAuse the roads are better . I live in brooklyn the roads are horrible and all bumpers are repInted here ppl don't give a fuck about nice cars I saw retards on 95 maxima bumping into a gt cuz that's how they know they backed up too much ....when they hit the other car.
