Have cupholders always been an issue for BMW? Seems odd that the car can be so nice yet the cupholders appear to be pretty bad based on what is said here?

Cupholders?

Personally I don't think they belong in the car much less in any location that might get in the way or look tacky (like the rear armrest). But I know I'm not with the majority.

I do so agree!

I think the cup holders in the e-60 are great. I havent had any issues with them. If your supersized drinks dont fit the cup holder, why not strap them into the passenger seat with the seatbelt. Give me a break

haha good point katheikia! Pop is the number one cause of obesity and the cups just keep getting larger! And so do the people's tummy's!

Now if we can only get the cup holders to "eject" the cups when they are full instead of waiting until they are empty we could help solve the obesity problem.

haha no kidding! Perhaps some sharp pointers in the bottom and a built in drain to the exhaust! Maybe sensors that detect if it's an unhealthy drink and tips it over

My cupholder can hold a six-pack and a pizza... I call her "wifey." (This option not compatible with navigation option.)
