My drivers side cupholder broke this weekend. I got a bottle of water at the gas station and drove off. After quenching my thirst I push the button on my cupholder and nothing happens! Ok, used passenger cupholder for now, at the stop I pulled it out with my fingernail while holding the button - but now it won't retract, the sring mechanism is also not working - what's up with that? Will they replace is under warranty or this is treated as a customer fault? Cupholder was working fine last time I used it...

Just had mine replaced under warranty; has never worked coming out or going back in. Some things ought to be left to the Japanese....

dont worry...just dont force it in and break it....
i got mine changed at the dealer under warranty...the passenger cupholder when i pressed the button nothing happeneds sometimes, and at other times the button would get stuck and when i push it in it would come out again..seemed to me like it was not properly lubricated...a few drops of oil or grease would have fixed it, and i would be happy..when they returned the car to me...i noticed they have changed BOTH cupholders with new ones. worked perfectly fine...
to be honest i was not so sure they would fix them under warranty....but they did...

Should be covered by warranty as you describe the situation.

I think I've had more cupholders replaced than I've actually had cups in the car!! And, all under warranty. Be sure to get the new, improved, cupholder 20.35a version, otherwise, you are prone to having problems in the future!

I actually like my cupholders now.

But I know what's going to happen: Odometer hits 50,001 miles; I put a Diet Coke in the one closest to me; and "snap." Passenger wants to put a Diet Coke in hers; pushes the cupholder multiple times; and absolutely nothing happens. Then, Evenflow finds out how much " cupholder version 20.35a" costs.
