My headlights on my wifes1999 528 were hazed and spider cracking. I bought an aftermarket set with "angel eyes" nonxenon bulbs and installed them. Now I am going crazy trying to find electrical problems.
The first problem; aftermarket light required some simple rewiring because of the turn signal became a single filament bulb. Turn signal only, the angel eyes took the place of the running light. It worked great until I had to replace a burned out turn signal bulb. The socket broke and it is not a BMW part. I can't find a new one. I first jury-rigged it together and then I noticed other things.
The key fob quit working, new batteries in the FOB did not fix it.
The outside trunk latch release quit working but the inside button still works.
The turn signal bulbs in the headlights have no power to them on the driver's side but the other turn signals work, including the side lights on the fender.
Has anyone else had or heard of something like this?
I can find no bad fuses.
