Do these bulbs even come on when you brake because if you are in the EU then I don't think they do. Can you confirm that. These bulbs are your BFD lights and at normal times are only acting as Tail lights.

They all light up when braking, when not braking they are not lit at all, my only tail lights are the rods.

Update :: I've checked and compared your trc file with mine , according to your trc file ,, you have disabled everything related to taillights bulb and you should not get any error what so ever even if you remove the bulbs completely , I'm sorry but I don't really have any background about your NCS skills , but are you sure you are coding the car with the updated .MAN file or you just read trc file , do the changes and save the file ,, I apologize if I sound silly but I've seen it a lot ,,

Bruce: Yes my car is a LCI car from the factory, manufactured 2008-07.

Ehssan; The outer bulbs can be removed without any problems, it´s the bulbs closest to the fogs are causing the errors,
No need to apologize, the question is valid, yes the car has been updated with the file i posted
I have done the front turnsignals, indicators in the HUD etc so i do belive that i have the procedure covered.

Yeah, I don't know guys, I have tried this for both pre and LCI, and it has never worked in two scenarios 1) removed bulbs 2) replaced bulbs with LEDs.

They only way that I have been able to eliminate the error was by using resistors or modifying the circuit with diodes.

I have tried this on my car, on a 2007 M5, a 2008 528, a 2008 M5, and so forth.

Actually while comparing my trc file with tsaros trc file ,, I found a lot of BFD options was activated for all the taillights bulbs , which is disabled in mine except the rear FOG ,, not sure if this is related to that ,,

tsaros : once I'm back from work , I will post the values which are different than mine , try it , you never know ..
