Ok, add me to the list of people that have the same errors with the LED brake lights. I went with the 30 SMD LEDs and I can verify that it seems at least as bright or slightly brighter than before.

mmitev, are you using bruce's cable? Possibly, Bruce already added some circuitry that tricked the cold and hot error check monitoring? Maybe you can bug your mechanic and ask him for us?

tsaros, for the coding I only modified the 4 parameters below. I believe on the other thread posted you modified other parameters with no luck still.

What I find interesting is that it disabled the strobing (error check) for the inner brake. The outter brake led bulb still strobe which I think the idrive is giving the error for. I'm really curious what other parameters we need to change in the light module. I can't imagine any other module needed coding since LM monitor all the exerior lighting.

I too bought the same brake light bulbs. True they are bright BUT they are not as bright as the bulbs. Put one each in the same light and you will notice the difference side by side. Having said that I think they are bright enough to be considered safe. I'm actually running one led and one bulb on each side.

As for the errors on the Brake lights. Its probably worth explaining.

The LCM have 3 brake outputs

RL_BL
RL_BL_1
RL_BL_2

Now the RL_BL_2 is normally not used in the pre-LCI but is used in the 6 series and the LCI.

RL_BL (EU brake) and RL_BL_1 (EU tail). But in the US both are used as Brake lights.

So if you are getting errors just make sure you are disabling everything.

OK do this. Replace the LEDs with normal bulbs and then replace each bulb with the LEDs and tell me at which switch do you get the errors.

Bruce, hopefully I am wrong here, but I have tested this on many occasions, and it seems to me that there's no way to suppress the errors for the brake lights if you change it to LEDs. The only way is to add resistors.

I have done the bulbs swap now and it´s the bulb closest to the foglights that is causing the errors, the outer brakebulbs does not cause any errors, only the ones beside the fogbulbs.

I've done in on my own car, so I know it works.
