I bought the kits, but many parts are missing. Amador havent sent them when I reclame.

LVDS Cable + CCC Fan + Fan wire harness, theses 3 main things were missing.
So I ordered LVDS Cable + I-Drive controller high from the dealer.
I should order CCC Fan + Fan wire harness

I have a question. could I use buisness nav fan?
your CCC should have a fan on it from Amador mine did, as did others ?
I also got the Idrive High (force feedback type from Alps) split menu voice button and mic with my kit.
all I was missing was the cables.

I recall the business nav fan is smaller, so definately if you dont have a Fan in you CCC pay the 30 pounds for one at the dealer - they clip into the CCC. its a lot of money to fry especially in the UAE where thing get hot !!

Then I should order the fan and should wait other 2 weeks for the fan.
every thing is getting expensive in UAE, if you ask them why, they will say it is because the petrol price.

Regarding the retrofit document that you attached, as I don't have the cable that is mentioned as W (link menu/voice button with I-Drive), should i order it? or I can skip and will not have the option of voice recongation ?

You are all lucky to have dealers who know that the retrofit is possible and know the progman. my dealer he know my pocket only.

Hi yes you can skip the extra wire id guess,

My dealer wouldn't fit any non new parts, but would program it at my risk, weve spent a lot of money there in 12 months (3 cars) so they are not to bad
like many this was the first time they had done this, but we agreed a price in advance.

Curiously a work colleague has a Land rover discovery 3 and had a Ebay second hand tow bar fitted by them no issues, just BMW id guess.

got hold of a 65900397300 complete retrofit kit of this bloke on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=015

its factory recon with a 2 year guarantee ?1200 all in.

he sent me the install instructions and they say my car will need to be coded BEFORE and AFTER the install - is this right???

when i did a nav retrofit on my e39, the instructions also said it will need coding but it worked fine without visiting the $tealer - has anyone done the retrofit and not had to visit the dealer???

i want to get started but visiting the dealer is just a pain in the bum.

thanks.

Yes this right im afraid !!
im in the uk and have done this to my 2006 525D

if you fit it will probably work but like me unless its coded to match you cars options bluetooth, hifi, etc,, these will be wrong e.g

I had nav but no climate options

the way to do this is

Get an upgrade on the cars software to CIP 26.x that the whole car - got mine for free (warrantly) due to other issue with it this can be an overnight job !!

Fit the nav kit yourself they wont do it normally

Get the dealer to code you Car to Nav pro and download the firmware to it (CCC) this step alone cost me 250 pounds 2.5 hours

if you want the extended voice they want another 250 quid

FYI if your cars over 4 years old, theres a 4+ reduced labour rate wisH i could get that..

not cheap
