CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
From what I've heard, I think you were very lucky in having those ebay purchased parts work right away (Pretty much like plug and play from what you are saying).

I have no NAV and no NAV wiring and doing NAV Prof. retrofit has been my dream ever since I bought her. Could you post a list of parts that you used (Each individual BMW part number) if possible?

Good luck with the CIP software update

Hi,

I've attached the Professional Navigation Retrofit install instruction, you'll need all the parts listed.

Hi,

I think my CCC was 65839117559, but RealOEM only shows 65839123087. The CCC was manufactured on 26-3-2006.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...;fg=45&hl=3

and the 8.8" monitor looks like, Real OEM says 65826973546. The 8.8" monitor has a production date of 48/04

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...fg=50&hl=15

I must say I was a little disappointed with the look of the 8.8" as it had scratches on the perspex front cover. After a little research, I decided to use SILVO to remove the scratch, and a product called PLEXUS that kinda fills slight scratches, and polishes when you buff off. After looking at my 6.5" monitor I took out, I was surprised that it also had scratches on it. Polishing the perspex front hasn't caused any reflection issues at all and looks brand new.

Wow, he's got all the parts selling for 1,800 EUR
If you are in the US, I think you can get a better deal from Garry (BMW of Newport). Besides, if your car is US specs, these parts from ebay might not even work (Since they are for EU specs cars).

Hi,

I think you could negotiate quite a bit with him. He said at one stage, he bought a USA car where navigation wasn't working, fitted european parts and it worked 100%.

Hi there,

U mentioned that the car location was set at Munchen Germany when u 1st installed it & probably because the car is garaged under a tin shed.

Are the display corrected now?

Thanks

Hi,

As soon as I was on the road, I inserted the Australian DVD and was advised that a new version had been detected and to turn it off for 5 minutes, then try again.

When I tried again inserting the Australian DVD, I was surprised that it displayed Adelaide which is the capital city in my state. Since then, the E60 Pro Navigation that I retrofitted myself has worked flawlessly.

Upgrading of my Business to Professional Navigation-navigation_001.jpg

There are 2 minor flaws that I hope will get corrected when the E60 goes in for Program v25 upgrade, but with the original Bus Nav re-fitted. Assuming the Progman v25 upgrades the E60 OK, I then have to quickly refit the Pro Nav parts so the v25 Pro Nav retrofit path software upgrade recognises the Pro Nav parts.

I'll keep you informed.
